1.  History 

    Previously called Shanghai Venture Capital Enterprises League, which was established at the end of 2000, Shanghai Venture Capital Association (SVCA) was founded officially in the beginning of 2002.

       In 2002,Shanghai government decided to develop industry organization and promote the foundation of market economic system. According to the requirement of members, through the agreement of Shanghai Industry Developing Department, SVCA is established in accordance with Regulations on NGOs Registration and Regulations of Promoting Shanghai Associations Development. It reform as industry association, which becomes a legal entity of non-profit NGO consisting of those enterprises (with deferent ownership and come from deferent industrial sector) engaged in venture capital, investment management, consultation and other VC investment related financing and securities Institutions, academy and research institutions, innovation companies, etc. SVCA will provide professional services to its all members.

2.  Affiliation

   The Association is mainly in the charge of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

3.  Mission

   Acting in accordance with the national constitution, laws and regulations and national policies as well as social responsibility, SVCA will actively serve all the members and promote the healthy development of Shanghai venture capital industry , making contributions to national venture capital industry development, promoting the cooperation and communication of domestic and foreign venture capital community, forming the self-discipline institution in the management of shanghai venture capital industry, and standardizing venture capital investment activity.
